Are Summer Bodies are Made in Winter?

Have you heard this phrase before?

My Muay Thai trainer actually yelled it to me when I was half way through my set when the feeling of giving up was closely approaching. It’s a little melodramatic but in all honesty I think he nailed it.

In that moment it was exactly what I needed to hear to throw another punch and keep at it. (shoutout to Coach Andy for the Inspo!). If you are reading this, you are the man!

But It got me thinking though, what does it actually mean? Does something happen in winter that preps your for the beach in summer? 

Do we burn more calories if you train in winter as opposed to summer? If anything, I think eat more and do less in winter, kind of like a polar bear preps for hibernation. 

There was definitely something powerful about the phrase though - a summer body is really something I desire to have all year round.  

For me, there is nothing more daunting than getting on the sand and not feeling your best. I literally dread it and would actively choose solo beach dates then group activities when I’m personally not feeling my best.

And no where here am I saying you need to be a certain size, I think everyone's beautiful and it's all about being comfortable, healthy and loving yourself no matter who's around. 

I mean really there’s nothing sexier than feeling confident in your own skin, wouldn't you agree?

Now there is definitely a magic truth hear that Andy meant when he told me this phrase and it actually has nothing to do with winter. 

How to be literally unstoppable if you want to achieve your fitness goals this year?

Ready for it?

1. Consistency

If you think about it, eating a burger and fries and pizza with a double chocolate sundae isn't going to make you fat… if you eat it once.

But, if you ate this constantly, then you're probably going to have some issues. 

Same goes with a salad - you eat it once and you're not going to miraculously drop down the pounds. 

But eating clean food regularly and throwing in some exercise a few times a week then you're in a different position. 

The Key to success in anything is consistency. So the point of this ‘post yerba mate’ rant is to give you some inspiration that whatever your goal is, get fit, eat cleaner or to just feel beautiful on the beach - stick at it.

Start with the end in mind and keep going till it’s yours.

With anything, preparation is critical when it comes to any goal. Healthy meal preps, drinking lots of water and even investing in supplements that can help you on your weightloss fitness journey.
